life-as-i-know-it
In the last eleven years I’ve experienced many different cultures and countries, and my work and travels have taken me from Punta Arenas, close to the Antarctic Circle in the south, to Nordkapp in Norway, well within the Arctic Circle. But now, I find myself slightly settling down here in Denmark, as a Multimedia Designer.
If somebody came and told me 10 years ago that I´d be doing a course in Multimedia Design, I would have rolled around on the ground in laughter. My Career at that point in time was as far away from anything to do with IT as possible.
Originally from Hobart, Tasmania, I left there at the age of twenty, and spent the better part of that decade combining my work as a raft guide and operations manager with traveling, as a method to experience different regions and cultures of the planet. A fair majority of that time was spent in Norway, which climaxed in me being part owner of a company there.
People move on and my body getting older persuaded me give in to the slightly nagging sensation of the need to gain a little bit of stability. Over the last five years or so I´ve enjoyed the constant battle to entwine technolgy and media into my everyday life.
Nowadays I´m settled down in the outter suburban town of Hinnerup, juggling a hectic schedule of being a Father, with the never ending quest to stay on top of the ever evolving technologies faced as a Multimedia Designer. Luckily to help me through I have my partner of 10 years, Henriette aka “Mulle”, to help me along. Her together with our slightly abnormal great dane, aptly named Øffe, who tends to believe that he´s a human being, bring a lot of comical relief.
During my studies as a Multimedia Designer, we were encouraged to specialize within the education. I enjoyed the video, html, business and communication elements of the course, but even found myself delving into regions I never would once never have considered, such as actionscript or flash. My specialization was within Communication, since I found that I could easily relate it to my previous experiences within the Tourism Industry, and my technical skills are tailored towards the tools required to be used to help facilitate this.
why-hire-me
Great multimedia requires understanding the capabilities of the tools that create it. I have a proficiency for knowing which tools are relevant for the task at hand, and a thirst for knowledge within an ever-evolving field. Having this basic platform of understanding of IT, enables me to facilitate many roles from implementer, to mediator, to leader.
I am adept at clarifying project goals and implementing steps to achieve them, whilst being attentive to details. I am Loyal and dedicated to team success, whilst maintaining professionalism under pressure. I am a self-starter who is also comfortable taking direction from others, or stepping up to take lead.
what-am-i-doing-now
Currently, I am working as a Project Coordinator for the IT Portfolio Management Office at Danfoss. My job involves following up on Projects in order to maintain the Project Portfolio. This requires a high level of communication and interaction, as well as a little bit of coaching people, to get the job done. On a technical level, I’m creating tutorial videos through the use of Adobe Captivate 5, and working daily within MS Sharepoint, Project and Outlook package.
